Saving The Daintree Rainforest

All Stripped Demolition is proud to be raising money to save the Daintree Rainforest.

Saving The Daintree Rainforest

As a demolition company, we deal with lots of waste every day. Therefore we have decided to strive to reduce the impact of this waste by planting a tree for each job that we complete and raising money for the Daintree Rainforest.

The Daintree Rainforest is one of the largest in Australia. At 120 million years old, it is also among the world’s oldest rainforests. An exceptionally high level of biodiversity and conservation value makes it a national treasure.

The Daintree Rainforest has a number of rare and endangered species, including the Southern Cassowary. The Southern Cassowary is a large flightless bird, found only in the tropical rainforests of Queensland. They play a vital role as seed dispersers, however, they are classified as Vulnerable to extinction.

The Daintree Rainforest is under threat due to the clearing of the rainforest for residential development. Half Cut works to buy back these lots with local Traditional Owners – The Eastern Kuku Yalanji people (Bama). To preserve intact forests and build a thriving community, traditional owners will assume ownership of the land.
